Trailer & Synopsis
Katherine and Alex Joyce (Ingrid Bergman and George Sanders) take a trip from England to Italy to sell a villa near Naples, inherited from Alex’s deceased Uncle Homer. It’s the first time they’ve truly been alone together since their marriage and what is supposed to be a blissful reprieve from their busy lives instead brings out the qualities in each other they resent the most. As Alex’s brusqueness rubs Katherine’s sensitivity the wrong way, the two scrap and bicker before going on their own solo adventures throughout the ruins of the old world, sensing the end of their relationship is near.
