Trailer & Synopsis
He should have just said no. 22-year-old Dante Hicks (Brian O’Halloran) was meant to have the day off from his job at a local New Jersey convenience store, but agreed to cover for a sick employee. It’s turning into a terrible day as Dante deals with a parade of minor problems (including his always annoying customers). His best distraction is continually talking shit with his buddy Randal (Jeff Anderson) who works at the adjacent video store. Their meandering conversations fixate on pop culture, sex, their friends and the bizarre locals (including a pair of stoners named Jay and Silent Bob, and Bob’s cousin, a Russian heavy metal singer). Kevin Smith made his debut writing and directing this comedy full of juvenile humour, unique New Joi-Zee characters, energy and charisma.
