This survival-horror film is an adaptation of the first two Resident Evil games and will include main characters from both titles including Chris and Claire Redfield, Jill Valentine, and Leon S. Kennedy. It is directed by Johannes Roberts and written by Roberts and Greg Russo. It serves as a reboot of the "Resident Evil" film series and is a whole separate origin story based in the roots of the video game series and the world of horror. Set in 1998 and based on the elements of the first and second games, the film will divulge the secrets of the Spencer Mansion and Raccoon City, while serving as an origin story for the games and tells the events of the city under siege from infected zombies.
