Six friends at an elite boarding school for girls jokingly engage in a late-night ritual to call the spirit of a dead student who reportedly haunts their halls. By morning, one of the girls is dead, leaving the others frantic. When new student Camille is assigned to the dorm room of the student who died, she immediately finds herself at odds with the deceased girl`s friends, and a study lounge altercation lands them all in detention in the school`s ancient library. There, the girls engage in a seance and received messages warning them that the spirit they have conjured intends to kill them all. The warning isn`t taken seriously, but as the girls begin to disappear one by one, those who remain scramble to uncover the mystery behind their supernatural curse. Meanwhile, Camille conducts her own investigation, one that leads her to wonder if they are indeed being targeted by a malevolent spirit, or something far more sinister.
