From celebrated filmmaker Richard Linklater (The Before Trilogy) comes NOUVELLE VAGUE, a vibrant cinematic tribute to the revolutionary spirit of the French New Wave.

Set in late-1950s Paris, NOUVELLE VAGUE follows a young Jean-Luc Godard after his time writing for Cahiers du cinéma, as he decides that the boldest form of criticism is to make a film himself. “Guided by his belief that a great story needs only ‘a girl and a gun’, Godard sets out to make his debut feature, Breathless. With the magnetic Jean-Paul Belmondo (Audrey Dullin) and American star Jean Seberg (Zoey Deutch) at its centre, the trio embark on a production that would change cinema forever.

Bursting with cinematic passion, NOUVELLE VAGUE is both a portrait of artistic emergence and a celebration of creative risk. A true love letter to one of cinema’s most radical movements that captures the youthful energy, experimentation and creative defiance that reshaped modern filmmaking.
