Cowabunga, Australia! The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Are Back for Their Biggest Adventure Yet

By FandySeptember 11, 2026

The heroes in a half shell are heading back into action. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 is set to hit Australian cinemas this September, bringing Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo back for another animated adventure.

Following the success of 2023's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, the upcoming sequel reunites audiences with the four brothers as they continue trying to find their place in New York City. This time, however, their journey becomes even more complicated when a new threat emerges and forces the Turtles to face a dangerous enemy.

The sequel once again features the voices of Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu and Brady Noon as the four Turtle brothers, with the returning voice cast helping maintain the distinctive energy and humour that made the first film a hit with both younger audiences and longtime fans of the franchise. MuviTimes lists the film as an action, adventure, animation and comedy title with a reported runtime of around 99 minutes.

The original Mutant Mayhem brought a fresh visual style to the decades-old franchise, combining expressive animation with a fast-moving coming-of-age story. The sequel is expected to build on that foundation while expanding the Turtles' world and introducing another challenge for the brothers.

For Australian audiences, the wait is almost over. MuviTimes currently lists Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 for 16 September 2026, with the title appearing among the upcoming releases on its Australian cinema guide. Limelight Cinemas is also listing the same September 16 release date, confirming that the film is part of the current Australian theatrical schedule.

The Australian release is also supported by Paramount's release schedule, which lists Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 as a family/animation release on September 16, 2027 in a later schedule, highlighting how release dates for the project have shifted during its development. Current Australian cinema listings, however, are now showing September 16, 2026.

For families looking for a colourful animated adventure, the return of the Turtles should provide a major cinema option this September. For longtime fans, meanwhile, the sequel offers another chance to see the brothers' familiar personalities, jokes and sibling rivalry play out on the big screen.

With New York once again serving as their playground and a new villain standing in their way, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 looks ready to deliver another energetic chapter in the beloved franchise.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 is currently scheduled to open in Australian cinemas on September 16, 2026.
